A high-strength plastic and glass composite reinforced with high-tensile steel rods. Custom composite frame sizes available.

Provides a ramp that helps maximise screen washing. Long service life and low noise, in a range of sizes.
Long screen life, high separation efficiency and low cost are the key factors when buying shaker screens.
Shaker screen cloth is woven from stainless steel wire, grades SS304 to SS316L.
Non-layered screens have a single fine-mesh cloth, reinforced by a coarser backing cloth, mounted on a panel. Their openings are regular in size and shape.
Layered screens have two or more fine-mesh cloths, usually of different mesh and reinforced by a coarser backing cloth. Their openings vary greatly in size and shape.
Several square-mesh weaves are used in oilfield screens, differing in the wire diameter used in their construction:
| Type | Construction | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| MG | Market Grade — single layer | Mainly used as a scalping screen |
| TBC | Single layer Tensile Bolting Cloth over a heavy support mesh | Well-defined cut point; poor blinding resistance |
| TRSF / DX | Two superfine layers over a heavy support cloth | Good screen life; good blinding resistance |
| XR | Two oblong-aperture (extended rectangular) layers on a square support mesh | High conductance; long life; good blinding resistance |
Screen capacity — the volume of mud that passes through a screen without flooding — varies widely with shaker model and drilling conditions. Drilling rate, mud type, weight and viscosity, bit type, formation type and screen mesh all affect throughput.
Three-dimensional panels increase usable screen area by corrugating the surface, like a pleated air or oil filter — adding capacity without more shakers.
They work best as the submerged, feed-end screen on linear-motion shakers. Past the fluid end point, a 3-D screen tends to channel drilled solids, so a flat screen at the discharge end eliminates channelling, dries cuttings and reduces fluid loss.
The API committee on Standardization of Drilling Fluid Materials recommends a standard for labelling shale shaker screen cloth.
The labelling procedure allows a direct comparison of separation potential, the ability to pass fluid through a screen, and the area available for screening. Every API screen label includes:
All Marshall screens comply with API RP 13C. See the glossary on the shaker screens overview for terms such as conductance and cut point.
